As we have mentioned before there are some rules of copywriting that help to fill various types of websites with interesting, valuable and effective content. We have already discussed rules regarding: (1) unique descriptions, (2) usage of keywords, (3) usage of descriptions patterns, (4) aiming at the target audience, (5) clarity of message, (6) giving evidences and (7) mechanisms responsible for CTA. Now is time for some more hints.
The Rules of Effective Copywriting. Part 3.
8)Visual Presentation
High quality of products’ descriptions and articles should come together with proper visual presentation of website’s content. Good pictures or gaphics is not enough. Designing a website we should always remember about text formatting. The articles and descriptions shouldn’t be too long – don’t write down a very accurate description if it’s not necessary or use hyperlinks if you think the details can be interesting for some customers. Remember about paragraphing the text and using crossheads, bullets, and different fonts’ styles – all together they will make the text easy to read and eye-friendly.
9) High Price = Good Description
Always remember that a high price requires a very good product description. The description is to explain and justify the price. It should be reasonably long and eye-friendly. Preparing the description concentrate on emphasizing advantages of the product or service and keywords that convince the visitor he/she has found the right thing.
10) “If it doesn’t sell, it isn’t creative.” David Ogilvy
Creativity is extremely important in both copywriting and advertising. Without it we wouldn’t be able to interest visitors and keep their attention for long enough to sell the product or service. Being creative do not forget about selling and persuading techniques that are essential for effective marketing writing. And for this reason it is worth to go through our old texts after some time and check how they can be improved.
Preparing new descriptions for all product or services in our offer may be a great challenge. Fortunately, we don’t have to do it all at once. Go through your offer and select the products and services you care the most. Then provide them with interesting as well as informative descriptions and enjoy selling them!
